Van der Horst Biodiesel has chosen Jatropha Curcas a non-edible plant oil as the main feedstock for the production of its Biodiesel.

Van der Horst Biodiesel has a four pronged approached for the growing of the Jatropha Curcas. The four modes are: Direct Ownership, Joint participation with Land owners; Contract Farming and Public Private Partnership (PPP).

Van der Horst Biodiesel will introduce its scientific plantation management in the plantations from land mapping; soil analyst and preparation; irrigation and harvesting, disease and pest control to oil expelling to ensure profitable and sustainable development.

Its R&D is committed to improve strain for better yield and disease resistant and effectiveness of the plantations in harvesting and oil expelling.
